The Next Great Thing from Microsoft? Courier Concept

Here is a video from the people at Gizmodo that shows a Microsoft concept for a tablet. The video doesn't seem to show anything about operating system or hardware, but more a conceptual video about what could be with a large touchscreen tablet. Hey wait, didn't Apple already think of this?

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 ad: Pulled after complaints

It's ok sweetheart, using a PC makes me want to vomit too. In all seriousness it is gross, very funny, but gross. The more interesting thing is how people keep going on about "private browsing windows" aka "porn windows." Are people's obsession with porn so bad that they have to have special windows to keep it all a secret? As previously stated in my post about Firefox "private browsing windows", they are they really gross part about the ad.

Microsoft XBOX portable: This would actually be awesome.

Ben Heck has done it again. With this being his fifth revision of an XBOX portable, he is really getting this down. Remember that this design is made completely from scratch but represent the possibilities of a manufactured XBOX portable.

This version has these new feature:
• Built-in Ethernet port, finally.
• Built-in WiFi adapter, as usual.
• Digital pushbutton volume control rather than a clunky knob. Different, better sounding audio amp
• Flush-mount DVD door and side panels (such as the memory card slots)
• IR sensor for the remote control.
• Two user USB ports.
• More air holes!
• Jasper motherboard.

Microsoft's XBox Going to be Better than Nintendo Wii?

On Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the devoted gamer and all around techie, got to help Microsoft show a preview of their new Project Natal. Their technology allows for seemingly better than Wii motion control, using video rather than accelerometers and optical control. As with all motion control, it might not completely replace the controller but the demo shows amazing promise for what is possible in gaming. Now they only need to invent a suit with haptic feedback so you can feel it when the ball hits you in the...gut.

God Bless Apple...No really

I was watching TV last night, as I often do, and was totally amazed by the "PC hunting commercial below.

Did she say that a PC with a "faster" processor was better at video editing than a mac? Someone should tell her a little bit about Unix.

But thankfully Apple responded. Lets see if someone disputes the allegations in the ad below...I think not.

Windows Mobile Marketplace: Sloppy Thirds?

Come one come all. After Apple changed the game with their itunes'esc app store, blackberry launched App World for their devices. Now the Windows Mobile crew has followed suit. I don't blame them for doing so because its a great way to bring developers and consumers together to really make their handsets do more. The only thing I don't like , is that it makes it seem like Blackberry and Windows Mobile just now got apps. The fact remains that both Blackberry and WinMo have had apps available for 10 years. Even longer if you include the original windows CE on the iPaq. So don't think this is the first time you have been able to get apps on WinMo. And no they aren't "sloppy thirds." They have been doing this for a long time. That being said, this is long over do and many more great apps will be able to find their way to the people.

Good job WinMo, now lets see how you execute.

...as always, tell me what you think.
