Please don't tell me that this never happens at Verizon, because here is proof. Customer service is only as good as the single person (and maybe his manager) that you are listening to.
If you still don't get it, here is the math:
With 100 cents in a US Dollar ¢.002/kb over = $.00002/kb over, so 35986kb * .00002 = $.7192 or ¢73 if you round up. They charged him $71.92.
The crazy thing is, even though the person didn't know enough math to explain it properly, the billed amount was still correct at $2/mb or $.002/kb.
